Honoring the Asian American & Pacific Islander Community

Barbie

Barbie believes in the power of representation and is committed to giving all kids the chance to see themselves in the dolls they play with and the stories they imagine. Increasing representation in our product, content, role models and marketing continues to be a top priority.

Spotlighting Asian Role Models

Anna May Wong

Through our global platform, we remain dedicated to honoring real-life female role models and amplifying their stories to inspire girls.

Our newest honoree is Anna May Wong, a prolific actress who is considered the first Chinese American Hollywood movie star. Frustrated with being typecast in stereotypical roles, she founded her own production company in 1924 and continued breaking barriers throughout her career. Sculpted to her likeness and wearing a red gown with a golden dragon design, this collectible Barbie doll honors a trailblazing icon.

Dedicating Resources to Help Support Girls

We are committed to helping girls believe they can be anything and that their race and gender should never hinder them. We know that more research into systemic barriers is needed, and in addition to our Dream Gap Project, we will commission research that specifically targets and identifies actionable solutions that we can all take.
